Meet Coach Holmes
Coach Nick Holmes, with over 30 years of experience in baseball as a player, coach, scout, and entrepreneur, has made an enduring impact on the sport. His military background from serving as a U.S. Marine during Desert Storm instilled values of discipline and dedication in him.
Throughout his career, Coach Holmes has positively influenced baseball worldwide, working closely with players, coaches, and international federations across 15 countries on four continents. He’s been associated with renowned teams like the Oakland A’s, Texas Rangers, and the Costa Rican National Team, and he’s part of Major League Baseball’s Scouting Bureau.
Beyond his practical contributions, Nick founded World Baseball Experience.com, uniting enthusiasts and fostering camaraderie. He’s also a writer, speaker, and host of the podcast “Love the Game, Live the Dream,” where he shares insights from baseball’s brightest minds.
Nick’s philosophy emphasizes dedication, hard work, and a genuine love for baseball as the keys to success. Currently, he serves as the Founder and International Scouting Director of Global Sports Metrics, Ltd., shaping the future of baseball globally.

What I do know is I owe my life to this game. Baseball has given me some of the most significant moments and sparked most of the joy that has come my way.
This game has positioned me to act on countless opportunities to better myself and those around me. I have built lifelong relationships and seen the world through cultures and people that I never imagined.
My goal is to give back everything this game has taught me to as many young players and coaches as possible. Keeping the constant learning cycle going.”
